Today, on 20.12.2012, Soisong officially discontinue all activities. Apparently, due to the premature departure of Peter Christopherson two years ago, the date has a mere symbolic meaning, even if we were able to realise the original SOISONG SPLIT project during the year. However, bidding this last farewell, we would like to once again acknowledge the generous contribution of the following individuals, whom we consider part of the collective and without whom our music would not have had a chance to manifest itself the way it did:

  Yuu Omiya, Tokyo
  Panu Nook Puntoomsinchai, Bangkok
  Han Li Chiou, Taipei
  Sabine Waltz, Cologne
  Kouichi Sei, Tokyo
  Emi Takeuchi, Paris
  Daniela Corcio, Florence

We are also very grateful to everyone who took our music home, and into their hearts. It was a great pleasure to be able to share our vision with so many enthusiastic and open-minded people and we hope at least some of that pleasure communicated through our work.

As we have earlier announced, SOISONG FINAL RUN is taking place today at 20:12, in Bar Bonobo, Tokyo. The event is intended as a simple gathering of friends, however it will also include several contributions of collaborative artistic nature:

  - in the exhibition space, Bonobo will host an audio installation of COH's AEIVAA II, the 20:12 long choral piece originally presented at Trafalgar Square in London earlier this year;

  - the collection of images projected during the evening will include a full display of Daniela Corcio's recent fashion collection of clothes entirely constructed of octagonal pieces of fabric, OTTO OTTAGONI - a belated collaboration we always wished for;

  - Kouichi Sei/Bar Bonobo have assembled a 33 edition of the live recording from 2008 packaged into walkman CD-players sealed so that the record can only be played from the walkman [with a sealed battery compartment, to add the true Soisong flavour].

After the event, ex-Soisong members will proceed with future plans of entirely retrospective nature:

Early next year we plan the long-promised release of the 2008 live recording from Bar Bonobo, TEST RUN #7. This will be an octagonal edition limited to 300 copies, first available by subscription to those who followed our efforts with genuine interest up until the very end, and who by today have acquired all of the three Soisong releases - a closed circle of close friends, as we feel. We have the full list of email addresses to send subscription invitations and further details to. The copies unrequested by subscription will be available from our webstore at a higher price. [NOTE: all those who had contributed to the SOISONG T-SHIRT CONTEST are due to receive a free copy, as originally intended].

Following the same subscription principle Soisong will distribute the other retrospective live recordings which we hope to put together during 2013: the live BLUE soundtrack recorded in Rovereto, and the final live recording from Berlin. [NOTE: the second studio album, based on recordings from 2007, will be published as usual through the webstore and available to everyone].

We thank you all for the years of kind support and we wish you a beautiful post-Mayan future.
Good bye.
